In other news, today's walk was a bit grim - wet, damp, cold. Here's a few pics. We hiked from Great Langdale, up Stickle Ghyll, across to Easedale Tarn, and finished in Grasmere.

Has anyone EVER managed to re-proof a waterproof jacket so that it beads like new? Check out the two photos - the trousers are brand new - beading beautifully. The jacket has recently been washed and proofed, inc heat - not beading. Both same brand.

I give up 🤷‍♂️

Going car free today and using the bus to Dungeon Ghyll, then walking over to Grasmere where we'll get the bus back to Ambleside. Bit grey out there but hopefully it'll be OK 🤞nice view across Ambleside from our hotel too 😊

Last night though, my friend Andy and me both had a free window and set aside the […]

At this time of year I’m really keen to get out and make the most of the weekend. The evenings are long, the weather can be cold and damp, but fortunately I’ve got the Peak District on my doorstep. We were keen to get the kids out for a walk, especially as Joe is 4 now and starting to build the strength in his legs […]
